The story of
Deflector
It all started several years ago when former boat racing driver Peter Bjersten took the plunge to realize his dream – to develop the world's most efficient planing v-hull.

the target
Petestep – emerging Swedish hull innovation
The goal from the start has been to significantly improve the characteristics of all planing motorboats, both for professional, family boats and for real racing machines.
For several years, Petestep AB has a full-scale research project where, in addition to hull technology, they also develop world-leading simulation and design tools.
Today, Petestep AB has been granted a number of patents.

the technique
The secret of the Petestep® hull is hidden in the 'steps' on the bottom of the hull. These Petestep® steps direct the mass of water down and back, giving the boat more lift and forward power. The wetted area is smaller on Petestep® hull boats than on conventional v-hull boats, which generally have rungs running longitudinally. Thanks to the smaller wet surface and the water mass that is directed down and behind, Petestep® hulls have a reduced water resistance, the boats go higher in the water and thus the need for energy is less.
